Integument manufactures FluoroGrip fluoropolymer films, sheets and coating systems using the patented, award-winning, advanced surface modification science to create surfaces on fluoropolymers that will enable permanent adhesion of traditional and pressure sensitive adhesives as well as traditional coatings. This enables designers and corrosion engineers to utilize fluoropolymer materials in applications not possible before their technology was introduced.

Their proprietary equipment and processes are custom designed and built specifically for Integument’s unique, cold-gas plasma, surface modification – the science that makes it possible to permanently bond a variety of adhesives and coatings to fluoropolymer films, sheets and parts manufactured of Teflon (FEP), Halar (ECTFE), PTFE, Kynar (PVDF), PFA, PVA and MFA.

FluoroGrip materials do not rely on older technologies to promote adhesion. Etching or other traditional forms of physical degradation to promote adhesion are temporary. FluoroGrip’s treatment creates a chemical, covalent bond with the adhesive or coating. This bond withstands a wide variety of elements and stresses such as UV-rays, extreme temperature cycling and aggressive chemicals – without delaminating.

The FluoroGrip Product Lines include:
Fluoropolymer films, sheets and tapes –
Cementable fluoropolymers (PTFE, FEP-Teflon, ECTFE-Halar, PVDF-Kynar, PFA, MFA, as well as alternatives to PVF). They come in thicknesses from 1-mil to 30 mils and widths of 1” to 56.” Standard Pressure Sensitive Adhesives are manufactured of acrylics, or silicones (for high temperatures). Optically transparent adhesives are also available.

These films and sheets provide unique benefits that include:

• Lexan (polycarbonate) sheets laminated with an optically transparent adhesive and Teflon film to create transparent, cost-effective, chemically resistant windows for machine guards, equipment viewing frames, and anti-graffiti “glass.”
• UV stable Teflon films to protect structures and signage from graffiti and chemical attack.
• Pressure sensitive adhesives that will not disbond from the films and tapes when subject to high temperatures (cycling), UV-rays, or mechanical stresses.

Corrosion Control Coatings, Films and Toppings –
Integument offers a wide range of specialty coatings, linings, and toppings to meet your needs for protection against aggressive chemicals. A unique product line that combines the benefits of flexible, chemical and high temperature resistant Teflon films with traditional epoxy, novalac and vinyl-ester technologies to create a diverse family of products for secondary containment, floors, immersion linings and splash-and-spill protection, FDA and non-stick applications are also addressed.

The product line includes:

• Pipe Wraps: Teflon pipe wraps to protect existing paints at the supports, against cracking, scratching, and general corrosion failures which are typically located at the supports.
• Expansion Joints: Pure Teflon expansion joints and crack-bridging systems that are engineered to work in aggressive environments in conjunction with a variety of conventional coating and topping systems.
• Wall Coating Systems: Non-stick, FDA compliant wall protection films for areas where ease of cleaning, sanitary or high-purity conditions, are demanded. Ideal for food processing chutes, hoppers and equipment as well as clean room applications.
• Paint Repair Kits: Easy to apply “peel-and-stick” paint repair kits – surface tolerant, no-solvents and no cure times required.
• Acid-Brick & Refractory Membranes: Easy to apply fluoropolymer membranes for under acid-brick, refractory, and concrete. Materials can be optimized to allow mortars to bond to the membranes or float as needed.
• Dry Chemical Hopper Linings: Non-stick, chemical and temperature resistant films, for lining dry chemical hoppers and chutes to provide consistent flow and corrosion protection.
• Paint Protection Films: Designed to protect conventional coatings in areas exposed to aggressive chemicals that spill and splash from nearby equipment and operations.
• Epoxy-Novolac and Vinyl-ester flooring and secondary containment systems.
• Fluoroelastomer caulks and coatings.
• Teflon Tapes for a wide variety of industrial applications.
