National Instruments

National Instruments offers hundreds of software and hardware products for data acquisition, analysis, and presentation. By leveraging the technology of industry-standard computers, their virtual instrument products empower a wide variety of users to easily automate their measurement and industrial processes at a fraction of the cost of traditional approaches.

Software
National InstrumentsNational Instruments offers a software solution for nearly every application, ranging from very simple to very sophisticated. Their flagship LabVIEW™ software product, with its revolutionary, patented graphical programming technology, continues to rank among industry leading development environments. Customers who prefer C programming or no programming at all use their other software products, such as Measurement Studio™ and TestStand™.

Hardware
National InstrumentsFor users who already have traditional instruments, they supply GPIB and VXI controllers, which connect PCs to traditional instruments. With National Instruments software, users take advantage of the power of the PC to enhance the fixed functionality of their traditional instruments, to operate multiple instruments, and to integrate National Instruments data acquisition products with their instruments, developing sophisticated, user-defined virtual instrumentation systems.

National Instruments also offers a growing line of hardware interfaces for the industrial automation industry. They introduced LabVIEW RT so that users can quickly develop control programs in a familiar, easy-to-use environment and then download those programs to a PCI data acquisition board or PXI™/CompactPCI controller. The hardware target runs the programs in hard real-time independent of the host PC.

Their virtual instrumentation vision keeps them at the forefront of computer and instrumentation technology. National Instruments staff works actively with industry representatives to promote international technological standards such as IEEE 488, PCMCIA, PCI, VXIplug&play, Windows 2000/NT/9x and the Internet. More importantly, they integrate these standard technologies into innovative, new products for their customers.
