Corrosion of steel and steel reinforced concrete structures are a common problem among bridges, docks and other saltwater structures. Every delay in taking effective action against concrete damage caused by the steel reinforcement corroding means irreversible damage to the substructure, and increased threat to public safety. The LifeJacket® galvanic protection system provides a simple and cost-effective solution for steel and steel reinforced concrete damage due to rebar corrosion on bridges and other saltwater structures. The LifeJacket® system uses encapsulated zinc mesh anodes within a stay-in-place fiberglass form, which is proven to stop corrosion by providing an electrical current to an affected region. LifeJacket® gives an attractive alternative to traditional repair strategies that require reapplication or continued maintenance over the life of the structure and the simple fiberglass jackets can be customized to snap into place around any structure. The LifeJacket® system is a smart system meaning current output will self adjust to meet changes in temperature, humidity, concrete resistivity and a number of other factors. In addition, the system is easy to install, maintenance free, self-powered, and economical providing a long-term corrosion control solution. With over 4000 installations to date, the system has proven to be an effective solution to the corrosion problem. From- CORROSION RESTORATION TECHNOLOGIES |
