Corrosion
Image of Shell Corrosion Technically, corrosion is the destruction of a metal surface by electrochemical reaction with its environment. As soon as your products are exposed to oxygen and humidity, corrosion becomes a negative economic factor which adversely affects not only your production, but also your turnover and business results. So you see that it is worth giving careful consideration to correct corrosion protection. Particularly when you deal in products that are more susceptible to corrosion due to the length of time they are stored and transported.

Shell Ensis Fluids
The components of Shell Ensis Fluids are film-forming materials dissolved in carrier oils and special rust-inhibiting additives. They all function according to the same principle: after they are applied, they evaporate and form a protective film. Water is repelled from metallic surfaces and fingerprints are removed. To fulfill your needs for optimal performance with simultaneous maximum security, we have used components which provide a higher flash point >62 c.

Shell Ensis PX
High flash point, advanced water-displacing solvent leaving a very thin not necessary to remove oil film. Film thickness approx. 0.3 microns. Its excellent dewatering properties provide cleaner parts and better quality. Due to high flash point >62 c, it reduces evaporation loss from tanks, storage requirements and health and safety demands. Ideal for short-term protection and as intershop protective enables rapid removal of water or coolant from components after pickling, phosphating, electro-chemical processes, machining operations etc. Meets ISO 6743-8 (1987) standard ISO-L-RA category.
Duration of protected storage: max. 1 to 2 weeks indoors.

Shell Ensis RX
High flash points, advanced solvent-deposited light grease film rust preventive with dewatering properties. Film thickness approx. 1.5 microns. Allow medium-term internal protection of ferrous and alloy components during storage and transit as well as protection parts on which thin films are required. Ideal for long-term protection and intershop protective. Meets ISO 6743-8 (1987) standard ISO-L-REE category.
Duration of protected storage: max. 9 months in door, max. 3 months undercover outdoors.

Shell Ensis SX
High flash points, advanced solvent-deposited thin grease film rust preventive with dewatering properties. Protection of many types of spare parts during storage, particularly in acid or other aggressive atmospheres. Meets ISO 6743-8 (1987) standard ISO-L-REE category.
Duration of protected storage: Long-term protection 2 years indoors, medium-term protection 1 year underdover outdoors.

Shell Ensis TX
High flash points, solvent-deposited thick wax film preventive with dewatering properties. Film thickness approx. 25-50 microns. Ideal for protection of packaged goods shipped by sea. Meets ISO 6743-8 (1987) standard ISO-L-REF/RM category.
Duration of protected storage: Long-term protection either 5 years in door or 12 months uncovered outdoors.

Shell Ensis Oil and Compound
Shell Ensis oil and compound are corrosion preventative products for application to surface likely to corrode, either in storage or in use. The products have been designed to encompass all general industrial and automotive requirements needing corrosion preventives that are removable and some for more permanent application.
Corrosion-preventive oils are combined of rust-prevention materials blended in an oil carrier; they do not contain solvents and on application leave a non-drying oily, protective film. Suitable for use where presence of solvent may cause compatibility problems with seal materials or when solvent cannot easily evaporate, eg. internal protection of machinery.

Shell Ensis Oil N
Shell Ensis Oil N is low viscosity oil with dewatering properties, which form a thin but tough oily film upon applications. An oil based corrosion preventive, it is used in applications where the presence of a solvent may cause a problem eg. compability with seals or where the solvent cannot easily evaporate.
Duration of protected storage: max. 1 year indoor storage.

Shell Ensis Oil 30
Shell Ensis Oil 30 is a designed for internal corrosion protection of gasoline and diesel engines during storage. The oil is applied in place of the normal service lubricant for a short period before shut down.
On recommissioning, Shell Ensis Engine Oil 30 may be used as the service lubricant in many types of engines until the first oil change. Shell Ensis oil 30 is compatible with mineral based service lubricants.

Shell Ensis Compound CC
Shell Ensis Compound CC is designed for the protection of steel-cored, aluminium conductors corrosion by saline air and industrial atmospheres up to operating temperatures of 100 c. It can be applied by hot-dip or hot-brush methods and deposits a soft, solid, very thick coating of protective materials.
Shell Ensis Compound CC can also be used for outdoor protection of metal surfaces subject to considerable handling.
